Relax and experience the best of the jungle. You can always add more activities. If you want to read, photograph, watch wildlife, exercise and occasionally go on an excursion — this is the peace you’re looking for. You can always add extras and discover something new. True tranquility that won’t bore you even after five days is here with us.

Transportation and arrival
We will meet in the town of Sierpe on the Osa Peninsula, where we’ll pick you up by our boat and take you along the river and through the mangroves to us — and back again. Departure from Sierpe is between 1:00–3:00 PM. Return time by arrangement. If you prefer to arrive by your own car, you must have a 4x4 with high clearance. Take the Sierpe ferry and drive straight on (the jungle route to Sabalo Lodge is signposted — look for Sabalo and the frog). Be at the ferry no later than 4:00 PM to ensure you arrive in daylight, and notify us before you cross the river because you’ll lose signal afterwards and we need to know to expect you. The drive takes about one hour, after heavy rains up to 1.5 hours, even though it’s only ~30 km.

Accommodations
You will stay in a peaceful, spacious glamping tent with a double bed, private views, a wrap‑around terrace, a private bathroom and tranquility. You will likely be able to choose between a tent in the garden and one on the edge of the rainforest. Each has its own charm. Each is unique in its own way.

Food
Your package includes half‑board — breakfast each morning (your choice) and a hearty dinner. Prefer lunch instead? We’ll arrange it. We cook fresh in our restaurant, use local ingredients where possible, and can accommodate special diets. We recommend choosing your meal and time in advance — we’ll have it ready exactly when you want it. Each meal includes a drink (fresh juice, coffee, tea, water). You also have unlimited access to chilled water during the day (with or without ice, lemon on request). Want to try local fish? Tell us on arrival — Angelica will arrange fresh catch, or you can go fishing with our guide Melwin and have your catch cooked.

Special care
For a treat, choose twice an evening or afternoon snack with a bottle of wine (can be swapped for a few beers). Enjoy our unlimited laundry service. Want breakfast in bed? Arrange the time and menu with Angelica. Fancy a walk on our rainforest trails with Melwin and learn more from our local guide? Arrange it with him — he’ll happily tell you everything he knows. Make the most of ping‑pong, darts, the pool, the natural swimming spot — and the children’s playground if you feel like it. We have 3 marked jungle circuits available by day. Two kayaks are at your disposal, but only for experienced paddlers and by agreement with Melwin. Kayaking is beautiful but can be very dangerous.

Program
Your program is optional — plan activities with Angelica and Melwin according to mood, ability and weather: 1) Boat trip into the endless mangrove forest — bird, wildlife and tree watching (2 h) 2) Boat trip to a private beach with lunch (4–6 h) 3) Horseback ride (easy or mountain route) / alternatively fishing (2–3 h) 4) Mountain jungle trek, moderate difficulty, with a snack 5) Night jungle walk — basic or intermediate difficulty

Included
Your package includes 5× accommodation. Breakfast and one main meal per day. 5× excursions according to the program. Free use of all activities at Sabalo Lodge. If you want a fridge in the tent, ask Angelica — she can lend a cooler with ice. Laundry service. Daytime rainforest walk with our guide Melwin — approx. 1.5 h. Transportation.

Important information
Always arrange your activities in advance — ideally a day ahead. Angelica will gladly accommodate you and schedule everything according to weather, tides and other jungle conditions. Remember you are arriving to a real jungle — a place where the sun marks the time, the desire to learn shapes education, and love is formed by the surroundings. Certain rules of behaviour must be observed here: nature takes precedence over people. For example, never enter the rainforest trails alone between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Carry a flashlight and watch your step — don’t accidentally step on a frog. We look forward to sharing some of our knowledge and the love we have for this place with you.
