When you live off the grid you will probably want a few options for transportation to make your life more comfortable and enjoyable out here. The lodge comes with the following items:

Boat with Motor
19.5ft/5.94m two year old fiberglass boat with an eight month old 25 horsepower Suzuki 4-stroke motor. The boat was specially constructed as a lighter weight fiberglass boat making it sturdy without the drag of unnecessary extra weight.  We added a false bottom flat floor and finned the bottom of the boat helping eliminate drag. The boat has cushions for all the seats and a sun shade and can fit up to 6 people. This boat is perfect for getting into and out of the mangroves while being safe for the river too.

4WD Toyota Landcruiser
This is a 1991 Toyota Landcruiser II (Special Edition) Diesel.  The car is mechanically sound, electrical has been newly wired and can get you through some of the toughest 4WD conditions.  It also gets excellent gas mileage being a Diesel engine and is a great car on the road or off.  There is plenty of room to store supplies when shopping or picking up guests. We have done extensive maintenance repairs on this car to get it up-to-snuff and have the receipts to prove it!

Two ATV Quads!
Included are two low mile 2006 250cc Kymco MXER 250R quads. They are two-wheel drive, automatic transmission, easy to handle and fast too. These are the typical type of quads you will see for rent throughout all of Costa Rica. There are dirt roads from Sabalo that go to Sierpe or you can go over a small mountain pass through a little pueblo called San Juan and all the way to Drake Bay or Puerto Jimenez. You’ll have endless roads to explore and enjoy.

Honda Motorcycle
We never really learned to use this bike like we intended to so it has low miles and looks like new.  It is a 2006 BROS NXR 125ks (125 horsepower) with only 5,811 miles!  This bike is street legal and great for on and off-road adventures.

Both the quads and motorcycle were recently brought to a qualified dealer for a complete maintenance check-up.  All vehicles and motors are regularly maintenance with frequent oil changes.

Custom-Made Stainless Trailer for the Quads and Motorcycle
In March of 2009, we had a Tico make us a custom trailer to haul our quads and motorcycle.  The trailer works beautifully even off-road loaded up with all the toys.  We upgraded the tires to lightweight truck tires and there is a spare.  With the Landcruiser and this trailer, you can haul your toys anywhere in Costa Rica for some great off-road fun!

We had this little trailer custom made with hard woods to last a long time in the elements.  It is a great little trailer for hauling supplies around.

Two River Kayaks
One one-man kayak and one 2-man kayak. Both are top-of-the-line and shipped from the states.
