A white-faced capuchin monkey enjoys chowing on the ripe water apples.

This little silky anteater was brought to us by a local. We took it to a friend in Sierpe who rescues wildlife. It turns out she was fully grown, healthy and didn't need rescuing after all! After feeding her and letting her rest, she was returned back to the wild.

An often seen visitor to the lodge, the male slaty-tailed trogon (in the quetzal family) comes by frequently to catch and eat cicadas and other insects.

A full-time resident of the swimming hole, this river turtle is a shy but cute little guy.

These almonds are shooo tashtee mmmmmm!

This boa blends in really well. The boas here are very pretty - well, for a snake anyway.

Look out Ms. Green Iguana - did you know the locals call you "chicken of the tree"?

This little caiman can sometimes be seen by the deluxe rainforest cabin after a rain storm.

Not the best picture but this 3-fingered sloth sure is cute. I want to give him a noogy :-)
